Cambelts on the Twin spark 16v engines are now scheduled for replacement every 36,000 miles (previously every 72K). This is the official Alfa Romeo schedule which was reduced around 5 years ago due to a high number of premature cambelt failures at around 50K .

*1.6 / 1.8 litre T.Spark 16 valve For Alfa 145, 146,147 & 156 1.6 & 1.8 litre T.SPARK models 1995 onwards £225.00 all inclusive Parts supplied: Cambelt , main tensioner and static tensioner *2.0 litre T.Spark 16 valve (including 2.0 JTS) £285.00 all inclusive Parts supplied: Cambelt , main tensioner,static tensioner, counter balance shaft belt & tensioner *Should the car require a timing variator, we would be happy to supply for an additional cost of £90 inclusive of fitting 2.5 & 3.0 litre V6 24 valve We replace Timing belt (cambelt), main spring tensioner, 2x static tensioners (YES - both of the fixed tensioners), £450.00 all inclusive. We recommend that on the Alfa 156 2.5 V6 models a replacement water pump is fitted. This is due to problems with cracking on the impellor ( a plastic part). We replace this plastic type with a steel version water pump.The cost is an additional £95 inclusive of fitting |
